You australians and your especial playing ways :P
They are essentially open or barred chords that add a different note and... well, I don't know why they are called that way :P
Example:
D/F#
e 2
B 3
G 3
D 0
A X
E 2

It's the D, but you add one more string.

No, no, no... We have a problem here :P
An arpeggio, unless I'm wrong, is when you pick every note that forms a chord, while the previous one is still ringing. A chord is when you play at least 3 notes at the same time (although powerchords are considered chords but play only two :P ). The major chords are formed with the 1st, 3rd and 5th note of the scale.
I'm not sure what a pitzicato is, unless it's a way to play, like staccato.

Yeah, essentially. I also think that you can play the one that is before the / without playing the second and sounds good too.

ok i looked them up -

Pizzicato is a method of playing an orchestral string instrument. Instead of using the bow, the performer plucks the desired string with their finger. This produces a very different sound, short and rapid rather than sustained.

Arpeggio
The notes of a chord played in successsion to one another, rather than simultainously. A broken chord.

Ah, i get it. Pizzicato doesn't really apply to guitar, then.
And that's what I meant for arpeggio.
