I've been thinking of that next week when I hopefully have more time and no one disturbing me, I could try to sing some noice to an innocent MusMaker's instrumental track.

I'm just wondering if someone else has tried this and what program you where using, and how the quality came out?

ummm...

I did something SORT of like that...
I used Cool Edit (though I think mine was only the demo version - it only did 60 seconds) and you open up the instrumental track and you can record yourself singing over the top on a different track. *realises she probably does not make a whole lot of sense*

Problem is, what I sang to was someone else singing along to some music :P So, for what it was the quality came out ok ^__^

You could try to use Vegas. It records on several tracks. Or CoolEdit. Both are easy to use and the result should be ok, i you work a little with the volume and the recording quality.

You can also try Acid Pro, i dont know the limitations of the demo version, i used it and it is good enough it can record several tracks so, now i use Cubase SX3 and that one is great

There is only a Acid Xpres on Recording Your Music. Is that the demo version?

Cubase isn't mentioned at all there. Can you add it, or should I try?
