A song written by a small group of friends for a local recording competition. We don't know if we won yet, but I'll let you know!

The song is not "mine," (in the sense that I am not performing in it. Decided against an airy sax in the break. But whatever.)...but I wrote some of the lyrics and much of the vocal line, and helped with mixing/mastering. It was an excellent experience.

UPDATE!!

So... We went to the recording competition thing at NESCOM (New Englad School of Communications). We were up against Schools such as Potland, Maine and such. Schools with recording studios at their disposal. They made fun of us. :(

One of the collegy-people giving the tour asked everyone what kind of equipment they had. After hearing people from other schools name off recording gear none of us has heard of before, it came time for us to share with everyone what we had for tools. The conversation was as follows (generally)
"Well... it used to be a closet where we kept the bad piano. We found a mixer, and put it in there."

"You recorded in a closet... with a mixer in it?"

"Umm, no. Actually, we ran an extension cord across the music room, and recorded in another closet with a mic in it."

"Well, what kind of mixer do you have?"

*We all look at each other; the person most involved with the project even shrugs*

"I don't know. I think we found it in the basement."

*All other schools laugh*

SO... we won. Yeah we did. We won the whole thing. Several hundred dollars worth of recording equipment. It won't fit in our closet, but we'll certainly make do. ^_^

Just goes to show that sometimes it truly is the talent and hard work, not the gear, that breeds success.
