Tips and hints from the pros on how to create your own personal samples

<img:stuff/divider.jpg>

  Would you like to add a little flair to your music? Samples are the way to go. Creating your own can be tricky depending on how you go about it. If you have a programable electronic keyboard/synth at your disposal then the task will not be as hard, simply tweak around until you find the disired sound and save it, playing when you perform or record. For more complex samples you may want to use a sound engineering program like Acid or Fruity Loops. Building samples in these programs is rather tricky at first and is only good if you also have a sample board. A sample board is a piece of DJ equipment that allows you to save samples to corrosponding keypads making it easy to use while playing live.
