The title of this song gives me a laugh, it was named by our lead guitar player when he wrote it.
He was thinking of surfy names and backwash is the name of sometimes dangerous backwards moving water after waves rebound off a beach or large rock.
I didn't know that, so to me backwash has always just been a slang term for the spit that flows back into your drink when you give your friend a sip, yuk! :p
This song is a little painful for me to hear just because the rhytum is so sloppy, we tried to clean it up in the studio but I'm still not happy with it ... we didn't get to practice this one enough before we went to the studio.
I'll be glad to re-record it again someday.

i agree! i was expecting a nice "beachboys" influence kinda music.
it's like some hippie puffing a good weed and found himself in the middle of his imaginary world.
but the recording isn't that bad. the instruments a well mixed.
