Story of the Father in Need
Oh please tell me how, as I look up to you
I have less and old, and you lots of new
You turn on the tap to the fountain of life
Providing those who do not shed the tears
Your family drink, prosper and thrive
Whereas my wife died earlier this year
I walk the rough, in search of water
Just enough to get us by
Hungry and thirsty, Girl is my daughter
What did we do to deserve this life?
I watch over her, sleeping at night,
To protect her, from this reality
Warm and clothed in your bed tonight
Spare a thought for those losing sanity
You turn on the tap to the fountain of life
Providing those who do not shed the tears
Your family drink, prosper and thrive
Whereas my son died earlier this year
Oh please tell me how, as I look up to you
How to live a life so wealthy and carefree
What I'd give for one day, to live life in your shoes
To experience freedom, liberty
See life through my eyes, now its up to you
How to live my life and struggle just like me
Now I give you one day, see that what you knew
Means nothing to survive a life in need
You turn on the tap to the fountain of life
Providing those who do not shed the tears
Your family drink, prosper and thrive
All but my daughter have died this year
Oh please tell me how, as I look up to you
I have less and old, and you lots of new
